We’ve been having some beautiful spring weather where I live so my class made these cool 3-D paper rainbows to celebrate. I originally got this idea from Teach Preschool and this activity for measuring rainbows.
This would be a great activity to use with a weather, St. Patrick’s Day, or spring theme. You can also work some math and fine motor practice into this activity by having the children help measure and cut out the paper strips.
Some children chose to place all their strips on top of one another and some chose to spread them out.
The children had a lot of fun exploring and creating with this language activity! I didn’t focus on correct rainbow color order but you certainly could introduce your students to this concept.
